Four reasons for God blessing Jacob

Alone with God
Jacob was blessed in the place where he was alonewith God. He sent everyone else away and was alone(Gen. 32:24). 20th century believers find it difficultto spend much time alone with God. The spirit of thejet-age has got into most of us, and we are in aperpetual state of busyness. The trouble is not withour temperament or our culture. We just don't have ourpriorities right - that's all. Jesus once said thatthe one thing needful for a believer was to sit at Hisfeet and listen to Him (Luke 10:42). But we don'tbelieve that any longer and so suffer the disastrousconsequences of disregarding Jesus' words. If we arealways busy with our various activities and do notknow what it is to get alone with God in fasting andprayer, we shall certainly not know God's power orblessing - His real power, I mean (not the cheapcounterfeits that many are boasting of). Broken by God Jacob was blessed in the place where he was brokencompletely. At Peniel, a Man wrestled with Jacob. Godhad been wrestling with Jacob for twenty years, butJacob had refused to yield. God had tried to show himhow everything he had put his hand to had gonewrong, despite his cleverness and his planning. ButJacob was still stubborn. Finally God struck Jacob'ship-socket so that his thigh was dislocated (Gen 32:25). The thigh is the strongest part of the body, andthat was the part that God struck. Hungry for God Jacob was blessed in the place where he was earnestand hungry for God. "I will not leave you", he criesout, "until you bless me" (Gen 32: 26). How God hadwaited for twenty long years to hear those words fromJacob. He, who had spent his life grabbing the birthright, women, money and property, now lets go of them alland grabs hold of God. This was the point towardswhich God had been working in Jacob's life all along. It must have delighted God's heart when Jacob at lastlost sight of the temporal things of earth and longedand thirsted for God Himself and for His blessing. Weare told in Hosea 12:4, that Jacob wept and pleadedfor a blessing that night at Peniel. What a differentman he was that night compared with his earlier yearswhen he desired only the things of this world. God'sdealings with him at last bore fruit! Before Godblessed Jacob fully, He tested Jacob's earnestness. Hesaid to Jacob, "Let me go," testing whether Jacobwould be satisfied with what he had got or whether hewouldyearn for more. God tests us too. He can never bless aman fully until the man is in dead earnest for God'sbest. We need to thirst like Jacob, saying, "Lord, there is more to the Christian life than I'veexperienced thus far. I'm not satisfied. I want allThy fullness at any cost."When we come to that point, it is but a short step tothe fullness of God's blessing. Notice in the incidentat Peniel, that it was when Jacob was in a state ofweakness (after his thigh had been dislocated), thathesaid, "I will not let you go, God." God could easilyhave left him and gone, but He didn't. For it is whena man is most weak in himself that he has greatestpower with God.. It is when Jacob is defeated, broken and utterly weak, that God tells him, "You havenow prevailed."One would think that God should have said, "You haveat last been defeated." But no. The word is, "You haveprevailed. You shall henceforth have power with Godand with men" (Gen 32: 28). We prevail, when God hasshattered us of our own strength and self-sufficiency. Honest with God Jacob was blessed in the place where he was honestwith God. God asks him, "What is your name?" Twentyyears earlier, when his father had asked him the samequestion, he had lied and said, "I am Esau" (Gen.27:19). But now he is honest. He says, "Lord, I amJacob" - or in other words, "Lord, I am a grabber, adeceiver and a bargainer." There was no guile in Jacobnow. And so God could bless him. God blessed Jacobthere - when he was honest, when he did not want topretend any more, when he confessed, "Lord I'm ahypocrite. There is shame and pretense in my life." Itell you, it takes real brokenness for a man toacknowledge that from the depths of his heart. ManyChristian leaders say words like that with falsehumility - to gain a reputation for being humble. I amnot referring to that type of abomination. What I meanis an honesty that comes out of a truly broken andcontrite heart. That is costly. There is so much guilein all of us. May God have mercy on us for pretendingto be so sanctified when we are not. Let us covetsincerity and honesty and openness with all of ourhearts, and then there will be no limit to God'sblessing upon our lives

Is Jesus really the messaiah???

This question has been greatly debated throughtout the ages. Was He really just a great teacher,or is truly the saviour of the world? For Jesus to have been the Messaiah,He would have had to fulfill all of the Messianic prophecies. The probability of one fulfilling eight of the prophecies is 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000;yet ,Jesus fulfilled all of the recorded prophecies. The Bible unequivocally answers the question and boldly declares that Jesus, the Anointed One,is the Messiah.

THE HEART- MOUTH CONNECTION

Many christians wonder how they can operate in the same kind of "say and see" power that God does. There is nothing magical about the process. The Bible is not a book of spells. It is simply a matter of meditating on the Word of God until it becomes so rooted in ur heart that it becomes more real to u than ur present circumstances .When a person reaches this point ,his or her faith is ready to be activated by words.
Establishing ur heart in Word of God is essential if u want to see the physical manifestation of God's promises.Because Scripture is infallible, whatever God says must come to pass.God's QWord is full of faith. The way a beleiever begins to establish his or her faith is to hear the Word of God preaced (Romans 10:17) in addition to reading ,studying, meditating on and speaking it.If u make this your lifestyle, u will be walking by faith and experience the promises of God come to pass in ur life.
U'r Heart is ur epicenter of faith in God's Word .Many people mistakenly make confessions when their hearts are not grounded on the Word of God.They are actually only mentally assenting to teh words tehy speak. They don't really beleive the words they are saying;they are only hoping that what they get frustrated when they don't see the manifestation of what they are speaking.
Romans 10;10 says,"For with the heart man beleiveth unto righteousness;and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." U must believe in the integrity of the Word before u speak it.Otherwise ,ur confessions are in vain.Second Corinthians4:13 says,"We having the same spirit of faith ,according as it is written ,I beleived, and therefore have I spoken ;we also beleive,a nd therefore speak." "Joshua 1:8 stresses the importance of meditating on the Word day and night .In doing so,we make our way prosperous.
Jesus is our ultimate example of operating by the principle of faith. He knew that whatever He spoke would come to pass. Why"Because He had meditated on the Word to such a point that it regulated His life(Psalm 119:97-104).When He cursed the fig tree in Mrak 11:12-24,the results came immediately. What He had spoken had no choice but to come to pass because they overflowed with the faith of God.The same results can be urs when u don't doubt in ur heart(Matthew 21:21).Jesus said that whosoever shall say,or speak,to something in faith will see it changed.

Jesus is with you in the storms of life

Master Text (Matthew 8:23-27 / Mark 4: 35-41, Luke 8 )And when he was entered into a ship, his disciplesfollowed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempestin the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered withthe waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him saying,Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Whyare ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he aroseand rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was agreat calm. The above is an account where the disciples were insea and a great storm arose and the waves begun tothreaten their lives. There cried out to Jesus to savethem. On the surface it would seemed their concern wasperfectly justified yet Jesus rebuked them for lackof faith. It would appeared that Jesus rebuke seemed harsh orunreasonable ? A careful study of the various passagesrevealed the following:1. The disciples actually had the words of JesusIn both the gospel of Mark and Luke we see Jesus said"Let us pass over to the other side" Mark 4:35. " Letus go over unto the other side of the lake. And theylaunched forth. Luke 8: 22 Before they started thejourney and launched forth it was Jesus idea and planto go over the other side of the lake. Jesus had beenwith them all this while and was their micracleworker, healer, provider, teacher and master. Jesushad never failed in one instance on anything Heattempted to do. He always knew what He was to do andwant to do. This occasion was no exception. But thedisciples forgot His opening words before theylaunched forth " Let us go over to the other side."When they saw the waves they panicked and became fearful. Likewise for ustoday who follow Jesus. Let us remember the times we decided to follow Jesus.Perhaps He has spoken many words to you before.Perhaps there were times you heard his voice and youlaunched out as the disciples did. Perhaps you readhis word and know his Word coming to your life to livefor Him, serve Him and follow Him. As you launched outin the great journey of life into the sea of theaffairs of this life , do the waves at times looked fearfuland overwhelming ? It is needful to remember the FIRST WORDS OF THEMASTER he has spoken to you when He first called you.2. The disciples forgot they were with Jesus or ratherJeus was with them in the boat. Think for a moment ifJesus were to drown in the sea. The Father'sredemption plan would have failed. It is unthinkableif something were to happen to Jesus. The disciplesforgot the master is with them in the storm. They sawthe waves and became fearful. Focusing on the naturalwill always defeat us. Faith looks to the Master who isthe authuor and finisher of our faith. We need aconsciousness of the presence of God in our lives thatHe is indeed with us and all that we endeavour to do.3.They forgot they are in the perfect will of God.It was Jesus who told them to go over to the otherside. It was Gods idea.It was God s perfect will forJesus ( and therefore them as well since Jesus toldthem to cross over) to be in the boat. They were inthe perfect will of God. What can we learn from this ?Even though it may be the will of God for one to be ina certain place, doing a particular tasks, or work, ministry , the storms of life will come. The reasonJesus was at peace in the boat was because He knew Hewas in the perfect will of God . His life was totallysurrendered to the Lord. The knowledge that one is inthe perfect will of God and doing what He wants bringsgreat peace. Let us be encouraged that with Jesus inthe boat of life with us we are safe and secure. Thestorms may rage at the outside (circumstances) but wehave peace in the inside (heart) because Jesus is reigning in our hearts. Contratry , the ungodly mayhave much earthly goods where all looks well on theoutside, but tempest rage in their hearts.Storms are raging in their hearts because of sin, guilt, conflict and unhappiness. Only JESUS can givethe peace in the hearts because HE is the Prince ofPeace.4. Jesus spoke to the storms to be still When one slife is filled with the Word of God,His life will befilled with faith and courage. With faith filledwords in his heart and on his mouth, he exercisedominion over the circumstances of his life.He beginto believe the promises of God in his heart and begin tospeak God s promises in his mouth. He begin to saywhat God said concerning his life, finances, health. The Word of Faith when believed in the heartand released on his mouth bring miracles to hiscircumstances and prayers. As Jesus spoke to thestorms, faith speak the Word of God in prayer, and this brings miracles to your life.In His Love,

Carnal mind

THE CARNAL MIND
The leeched mind is a carnal mind. Romans:8:7-13,The carnal mind is enmity against God;for it is not subject to the law of God ,neither indeed can be.So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in u.Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ , he is none of his. And if Christ be in u,the body is dead because of sin;but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in u,he that raised up Christ from the dead dwell in u,he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in u.Therefore, brethen,we are debtors , not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body , ye shall live. The carnal mind given over to the ways of the devil is not subject to the laws of God, and cannot be . If one is unable to seperate the carnal mind from the mind of pleases God,battles of the mind become a way of life .When the word of God reaches that leeched area, that carnal part,it cannot penetrate.
Come now , and let us reason together, saith the Lord (Isaiah 1:18). THe Lord wants to reason with u,but He cannot reason with the leeches of the carnal mind, and that person thinks u have let him down, that u don't uderstand, that God has failed him. Many dissappointments come because of unrealistic and unfair expectations. It's amazing how leeches can enter through dissappiontments--dissappointments in a companion, in work , or in other areas.

Leached Mind

LEECHED MIND
Different kinds of demons exist unseen in this world, millions, even billions of them, devils that possess the soul---the unclean devils---and devils that take over the mind but do not possess the soul.A truly born-new Chirstian cannot be possessed by demons of the soul-- unless that person backslides --but may be tormented by mental devils, devils that can leech the mind.
The leeching of the human mind is the most incredible takeover by Lucifer a person could suffer other that total devil possession --the Bible teaches it.
What is a leeched mind?Through the gift of discerning of spirits, some mental spirits clustered together on the human mind, draining it of the integrity and reasoning power of God .Leeches of the mind ,filled with mental spirits of the devil, seek to leech a part of the brain or all of it.

The Tongue

Dear friend,

Suppose u have a garden full of trees yeilding good fruits.Who will enjoy the fruits.?You definitely know that only you, your family and ur children will enjoy them, but not a stranger.Suppose u like to eat mangoes which seed will sow?Obviosly a mango seed. And finally you reap mangoes.

In other words,we can say -what so ever we sow,so shall we reap. The word of God says in Proverbs 18:21,"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

Here Tongue says-the ordinary language which we speak with our family members, friends etc., God has given power to this language. We can choose either death or life in our life in our language.Death says no movement.what is death in my language? It is nothing but the negative words which erupt out of my language during my(darkest hour)worst situations, depression etc.,.

If we r struck with a terrible disease, how do we react?Immediately many negative words like ,It's a hereditory disease,it can't be healed etc.,come out of us.It is the same in our work, relations, physical, mental etc.,.When I agree with such negative thoughts, though I have the ability to do that work,I will not be able to do it.My words weaken my strength and capability.

But in that very area,if I start changing my attitudes and images and I begin to hold the promises of God and speak life which is the word of God.-By His stripes I am healed,I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me...life starts emerging out in those areas where I was once dead.

So,it is obvious that what ever we speak with our tongue(sowing seed) those are the things which we have to experience or face later(harvest time). Therefore it is very important that we need to guard our language in our every day life.we cannot speak just for fun.We also need to be careful in our speech and with our feelings.God said,"Bless those who curse u".When I bless my enemies,I sow a seed of blessing and so I will receive a fruit of blessing.

The word says,"The wholesome tongue is a tree of life."So,lets change our language because it is a tree of life that not only delivers me but also many.

A Peaceful Heart

READ Philippians 4:4-7 KJV4Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Many of us are at war with ourselves and don't realize it. Some people experience inner turmoil because they've never made peace with God. That's corrected by receiving Jesus Christ as Savior. Those of us who already believe may at times feel anxious. Inner serenity comes when we accept who God made us to be. Acts chapter 17:26 says our Father chose the time and place we would be born. He determined what we'd look like. God gave us our personality, talents, and spiritual gifts. Fussing over what He has chosen for us will keep us unsettled. Understand His purpose for our life. Proverbs chapter 3:5-6 reminds us that embracing God's unique plan for us will bring satisfaction and peace.Know that we belong to Him. Feeling disconnected can irritate us. You should remember that adoption into God's family is permanent. It'll keep us steady. The bible says in John chapter 10:28 that nothing can change the fact that we are His.Maintain a clean conscience. When we are headed in the wrong direction, our conscience acts as a warning signal. We feel a sense of guilt or shame that troubles our mind and keeps peace away. Once we confess our sin and turn from ungodliness, our conscience becomes clear once again. Inner turmoil is replaced with calmness.Keep a Christ-centered focus. Taking our eyes off ourselves and steadily looking to Jesus will give us a quiet spirit. A peaceful heart will become a reality when we embrace who we are in Christ, confess our sins regularly, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
